## THE SOLUTION TO THE COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT PROBLEM IS TO THROW OUT EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE AND ‘DARK ENERGY’

The quantum vacuum on a static three-sphere universe — the Einstein universe — does not have 122 orders of magnitude difference from the measured value of the cosmological constant.  There’s a nice calculation of the quantum field theory vacuum for fixed radius universe that is relatively small.  Now the radius of the universe should determine quantization.

The key point is that in a static three-sphere universe, light travels via curved space and hence the frequency-wavength no longer follows the relationship $f = c/\lambda$ but rather one that is determined by the spherical harmonics.  This discrepancy can explain the redshift-distance of Hubble without any expansion, geometric error.  The gains are enormous, we solve the cosmological constant retaining the gains of quantum field theory, which is actually much more solid than the ridiculous expanding universe theory and we probably don’t have to produce a quantum theory of gravity and keep it classical.  In fact, we might discover that the geometry leads to simplifications of complicated quantum field theory and reduce parameters of the Standard Model of particles.  Moreover, no one has seen any dark energy so we remove it from existence.
