The barbarian hordes plundering for control and tribute infinitely more subtle civilizations in history have an exact analogy with certain strains of ants invading and enslaving other strains.  We might have the bad habit of romanticizing these invasions, as the Anacreonians do in Asimov’s trilogy but if we are honest about the strains of psychology where the looting and plundering originates, the literal insectoid psychology cannot be evaded.  I should perhaps produce more details of the behavior of invading ants but this is well-known as far as I am concerned.  Here one can find basic evidence for my hypothesis.

Kafka began keeping a diary during a drought in his writing.  I feel that the weight of responsibility for the external world has reached its maximum for me and perhaps I will transform my blog into a diary.  Being shamelessly public anyway, I don’t feel any deep invasion of privacy to keep a public diary.  Insomnia is consuming me.  I read it as a psychic crisis as I had gone through a period of intense paranoia accompanied by strange metaphysical experiences of a political type.  Now I have to ask myself what ‘the awful daring of a moment’s surrender can mean’ having gone through a Platonic romance of unrequited love and pangs of despised love which I took with honor as bringing me closer to Hamlet.  And now, I care less about the external world, it having already consumed so much of my life.  I do not feel the generosity that I felt for most of my life.  My focus now is closer to being at the moment and preserving myself against the chaos.   Some excellent morning discussions with John at Muddy Waters had given me greater hope in finding people who respect Nietzsche as much as I do and struggle with his ideas and wisdom.   I feel it okay to set sail for the moon and never look back.  I am tired of external mediocre judgments; they degrade my soul.  Can I avoid scorn even polite silent scorn?  Should I?

Besov spaces are studied well by wavelet analysis, as is well-established (will produce references later but Donoho-Johnstone is a choice pick for this as is Meyer).  On spheres there are wavelet constructions based on localized tight frames (see this).  It is a natural conjecture that the fractal or Besov geometry of nature is a consequence of the spherical geometry and I need to make the intuitive leap more concrete here which I leave for another time.  S4 physics closes the Riemann hypothesis on the geometry of the cosmos and special properties such as compactness and symmetries might imply naturality of ‘fractal geometry of nature’ as well which I think worthwhile considering Besov geometry to make wavelet-quantification clearer.

Start with what has been proven, the S4 shape of the universe and apply strict parsimony principle.  Speed of light is not the fundamental constant but the radius of the universe which simultaneously explains cosmological constant and quantization of energy.  Freely inject a theory of four dimensional matter that is ‘non-physical’ but has effect on the physical universe.  Now complete the puzzle.  I would expect the problem of gravitational  well of the sun to be resolved in this way along with many other issues in science and metaphysics.

Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.  Accept the place the divine Providence has found for you; the society of your contemporaries, the connexion of events.  Great men had always done so and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating all their being.  And we are now men, and not minors or invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, but guides, redeemers, and benefactors, obeying the Almighty effort, and advancing on Chaos and the Dark.

The workhorse of long-memory models in practice is ARFIMA.  A great exposition with references to the statistical issues is this paper by Contreras-Reyes and Palma.  I won’t repeat what they have done well.

What does Zionism, Jihadism, and Manifest Destiny have in common?  The old divine right to other people’s land and resources.  It’s not robbery if God gave it to whoever.  You know, God gave me the entire planet and everything in it the other day.  Sounds legit, doesn’t it?
